Take only from the best. Mongolian contortionist, Odgerel Gombo has performed at Circus related productions and events just about everywhere. He was a silver medalist at the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo and a legendary instructor who has taught at at several schools all over the continent, including his very own school in Mongolia. He is a key element to many successful contortionists today.

BEGINNERS RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Taught by former USA National and World Championships Team Member, KRISTIN KAYE, your child will begin to develop grace, flexibility, and hand-eye coordination by learning the fundamental basics of the sport of rhythmic gymnastics, using the ribbon, ball, and hoop.

Juggling with KyleThere is no better way to work your hand manipulation and coordination skills other than with Juggling.  Kyle’s class will teach you basic toss juggling techniques with balls, clubs, or rings.  Other prop based skills including Diabolo will also be taught.Juggling with KyleEvery Saturdays 11am – 12pm

Rhythmic Gymnastics Bootcamp

Saturday, August 1st, 2015 1:30-4:00pm

This bootcamp will teach you the fundamental tricks of the rhythmic gymnastics apparatus: Ribbon, Ball, Hoop, and Clubs. This intensive will also be great cross training for your aerial work by focusing on Presentation, Grace, Flexibility, Balances, and Hand-Eye Coordination.

Instructor: Kristin Kaye

Kristin Kaye is a former member of the 2009 USA World Championships Group Team and USA Senior Group National Team from 2007-2009. In 2000, she was a member of the USA Junior National Group Team that competed at the Junior Pan American Championships. Prior to her accomplishments as a group team member, Kristin was the 2002 USA Junior National Champion and a member of the USA Junior National Team from 2001-2002. In 2000, she was the Level 8 Junior Olympic Champion. In addition to coaching, Kristin still performs in various rhythmic gymnastics/dance roles. She also has a Bachelors degree in Psychology (Wheaton College, 2011), is a speaker for eating disorder awareness and prevention, and currently trains full-time in the sport of rowing.

Featured Circus Professional: MASTER LU YI

Lu-YiMaster Trainer Lu Yi brings more than 50 years of experience to Circus Center. For 33 years he was associated with China’s celebrated Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe, first as a star performer then as its Director. He was also Vice President of the Chinese Acrobats Association. During his long tenure with the Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe, Master Lu Yi toured internationally, and his company was the first Chinese group to perform in Western circus productions, notably with Circus Knie in Switzerland and the Big Apple Circus in the US. He also taught circus arts for Circus Oz in Australia. In 1990, Master Lu Yi moved to the US to become Master Teacher and Artistic Director at Circus Center. He has judged international circus competitions in Paris, Monte Carlo, and China.

Graduates: International Aerial Teacher Certification Program

The International Aerial Teacher Program (IATTP) offers formal teaching training courses for aerialists who wants to make aerial arts education their career. The program encompasses the fundamentals, the theoretical composition, safety practices, artistry and business administration.  Since the IATTP program commenced in 2012, we have had very good response from both graduates and contenders. After going through the IATTP program, you will have to take the certification examinations held by Aerial Arts America, the governing body that protects the standards of aerial arts training.

We have the Regular Track and Fast Track sessions.  Regular Track session starts end of March and beginning of October each year.  Fast Track is a 10-day intensive course (6 hours a day) every 4th week of May and 2nd week of November, each year.  To get more information, please email us at: info@rubykaren.com  or visit Aerial Arts America

Aerial Dance Theater (ADT) is a performing arts venue that hosts classes, events, showcases/ performances, rehearsals, parties, and other functions.  It is the new headquarters of the RUBY KAREN PROJECT, the ORANGE COUNTY AERIAL ARTS, and CIRCO ETEREO USA.

RPK Success Story – Brande Lee at Cirque de la Mer

Brande Lee has been studying and performing circus/aerial arts since 2009. She specializes in aerial lyra, silks, hammock, pole, and hoop dance.

Brande began her aerial training with Orange County Aerial Arts (OCAA)/ Ruby Karen Project and is an alumni of their 2009-2010 apprentice program. She performed in OCAA’s “Airborne” and “Nightmare on Air” and still trains and performs with them to this day. Brande furthered her professional training at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) in their 2013-2014 Intensive Training Program.

Over the past five years Brande has performed with her company, Elevated Aerial Dance, VIP Woman’s Dance, Wire Monkey Dance, SHOW Circus, and currently, she is performing as an aerialist in the 2014 Cirque de la Mer show at Sea World, San Diego.

Brande has plans to compete in the 2014 West Coast Aerial Arts Festival in the professional division this coming November. She is so excited to be a part of this event and to work with such talented artists from various areas around the country.
